Our skid plate protects more, and is much tougher since it's made of much thicker material. Our transfer case skid plates are made of laser cut 3/16" thick steel that is CNC folded, and are powder-coated semi-gloss black for a durable and attractive finish. They mount solidly to the truck's frame and are specially designed for easy bolt-up installation with minimal drilling. Just like our other skids these skid plates will help you get over obstacles by preventing your chassis cross-members from catching on whatever you're driving over. Since you let us know that you would prefer one that spans the chassis from side to side, that's what we made. It requires the drilling of 2 holes to mount it. There's even an access hole that allows you to change your transfer case fluid without removing the skid plate. Here's what the transfer case skid plate looks like off the vehicle. The t-case skid and transmission skid do not overlap. They are flush with each other for a nice smooth underside.
