for 2002 - 2007 Jeep KJ Liberty (including CR-Diesel model) When we originally designed our Jeep Liberty engine/transmission skid it was thanks to our friends Tim and Karen Braden's bad luck. They had the pleasure of tearing open their transmission oil pan up at Paragon Adventure Park. Take a look at the picture! The blue stuff is silicone to keep the ATF inside where it belongs. They were here at Skid Row later that day and we measured up "Libby" for a new skid plate. Our engine/transmission skid plate not only protects your vulnerable transmission, it provides protection for your engine oil pan and smoothes the underside of your Jeep making it more capable of sliding over obstacles. Constructed of 3/16" thick steel this skid plate provides durable protection without giving up ground clearance or adding excessive weight. It's attached in several locations and if your Jeep came with a factory transfer case skid plate, it requires no drilling for installation. If your Jeep didn't come with the transfer case skid plate, the installation will require the drilling of two holes through the transmission crossmember for two carriage bolts to pass through.
