2000-2004 Nissan Xterra SUVs.
and
2000-2004 Nissan Frontier Pickups.

Skid Row Offroad skid plates are available for both the automatic and manual transmission models. Take a quick look under your Nissan and you won't find anything to protect transmission or engine oil pan. The picture below shows how unprotected the transmission and engine really are. Apparently, Nissan didn't really think you'd be playing on real trails with your Xterra or Frontier truck.     We know you're gonna play hard!!
We've developed a set of skid plates to protect all of the expensive drivetrain components that rocks love to make meals of. They are made of 3/16" thick steel and are sold with no coating. They mount solidly to the truck's frame and are specially designed for easy bolt-up installation with minimal drilling. The engine/transmission skid plate does not require any drilling for installation.
These skids have been tested in Paragon Adventure Park here in PA, as well as in Moab, Tellico, and on other trails all over the country. These are the best skid plates you can buy for your Nissan. Another lesson learned during our off-road testing is that these skid plates help you get over obstacles by preventing your chassis cross-members from catching on whatever you're driving over. So you not only get added protection and peace of mind, your Nissan will be more capable as well!!

NN-0004:
Shown is the undercarriage skid plate (Part# NN-0004) on an Xterra with an automatic transmission . Notice how much the skid plate protects and how it's mounted to provide you with the strongest, toughest skid plate available. There are holes provided so that your engine oil can be changed, as well as your differential lube and automatic transmission fluid! In other words, there's no need to remove your skid plates to perform routine maintenance. Manual trans owners will still need to remove the skid plate to change the gear lube. Sorry about that!
Here's a photo of our engine/transmission skid plate off of the vehicle to give you a better idea of what it looks like.
